Dr. Amy’s story is a testament to her unwavering commitment to healthcare and her dedication to serving communities along the Australian coast. She is originally from Melbourne, but moved to the Gold Coast to pursue her medical career, eventually graduating with a Bachelor of Medicine/Bachelor of Surgery. Throughout her early career, she gained invaluable experience in both urban and rural settings across Queensland.
Her pursuit of excellence led her to Sydney, where she completed her junior doctor training at Blacktown Mount Druitt Hospitals and continued with a senior resident year at St Joseph’s Hospital in Auburn. These experiences further solidified her passion for holistic patient care and her determination to make a difference in healthcare.
Before embarking on her General Practice training, Dr. Amy worked in regional hospitals in New South Wales, including Lismore, Katoomba, and Moruya. These experiences exposed her to the compassionate, dedicated and skilled GPs working in these areas, inspiring her to focus on community medicine.
Dr Amy’s commitment to her medical training persisted even through the challenges posed by the Covid-19 Pandemic. She earned her Fellowship with the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners in 2022, a testament to her resilience and dedication to progressing her abilities in providing high-quality healthcare.
Beyond being a clinician, Dr. Amy is a GP Clinical Editor for HealthPathways Sydney, which provides a point-of-care localised information resource for GPs in the Sydney Local Health District. Her contributions showcase her commitment to advancing the medical community and improving accessibility to healthcare.
Dr. Amy thrives on the cradle-to-grave and holistic family medicine aspects of general practice, cherishing the continuity of care that GPs provide.
